Half Past Twilight
The "final" Short film as promised. thanks everyone for the
remarkable interest shown. The previous (2'nd) video which was uploaded (Now replaced with V3.4 :o) March 19'th (super perigee Moon event) got 97 views within a few days, but the first raw Moon clip took the cake with some 394 views in even less time. This short film that is the Third and "final" one, involves a lot more post work / techniques. (days worth, actually recognize the face on the rendered guy? There's many more ideas I'd like to implement, but I realize it might never be completed ;o)...
On March 19th 2011
a full Moon of rare size
and beauty rose in the
east at sunset.
The rarity of this event,
which only happens every
20 years or so, inspired
me to produce this
short film...
This production started
out as a simple video
of this event but became
an inspiration to involve
many effects as well as
the included animations.
Video was shot with
the Canon XL2, all images
(except 2) taken with the
Nikon D300.
The XL2 was fully zoomed in for
this moon footage (20X),
-3 Gain, shutter 30 with an aperture
of F16 if I remember correctly.

3D Animations
This short demo includes yet another, by me, modified 3D warehouse model using Sketchup, 3D Exchange and Iclone (not Vegas pro this time). As you know, in order to be able to animate any model it must consist of individual parts or groups in such a way , that it enables the animator to re-attach / link the various pieces so that they may be manipulated. i.e. you wouldn't fasten the prop onto an airplane by welding it? or would you? Aaaanyway.. Some of those parts where then poorly adjusted onto Clonebone a (recommended) so it may be animated, using every ounce of the power IC5 provides (including the Mocap device). Whats that? You like the way I lit the scene? Thank you, it was achieved by using many light sources, just as it's done in Hollywood, only thing is that part did not take, even a fraction of the time it took to bring this nice warehouse model back to life. This was my first attempt, so it's more work under progress. I'm sure I missed a few things, one of those things are the left hand's thumb, which can be seen "hovering" next to the model, while those visible clone-bone parts was left there intentionally :o) Oh and the "look at" (camera) function was used indirectly, by linking a 3D object (dummy, not you, but rather, those objects are called dummy's :o) to the model, then have the camera(s) looking at it. This way, you still have a way to compose your shot(s).
