I purchased this Canon XL-2 new ($3350) from B&H about a year ago but have had little use for it, in fact I have only used it for a few hours (or 5, 63 min DV tapes).
Since the CAM hardly been used, and I only see minor scratches around the tripod plate/screw hole, I have to say it's as new and in excellent condition, (never dropped bumped, rained upon or even transported other than to/from B&H/Canon). The viewfinder was defect upon arrival from B&H so I sent it to Cannon factory service center in VA, who serviced it and when I discovered "banding" (15-SEP-11) I decided to send it to Cannon service a second time, who replied they replaced/aligned the drum. Another call with Canon revealed that banding may occour when "overwriting" DV tapes several times. This XL2 has been tested with new DV media and is in perfect condition. i.e. no banding issues etc exist.
Reasons for selling, we now have a powerful NLE workstation and are thus HD ready.
